Guzik,

John Mark “JM” Garcia Guzik has always had a deep and abiding love for the arts. The only problem: He believed that art had no love for him. He had no formal art education, no natural drawing skills, not even an eye for color. Drawing, sketching, and painting have been a challenge for him since childhood.

Fortunately, this spark of love for the arts was rekindled many years later when his wife and his eldest son attended a summer art workshop under ARTipolo Group president Pol Mesina Jr. Watching his wife paint together with the other artists revived JM’s long-forgotten interest in art.

After officially joining ARTipolo, JM not only got to paint; he also had several opportunities to showcase his works in group exhibits. For an accidental artist like him, it is living proof that art is indeed for everyone. Artistry may not be innate for some, but it can be learned and developed through persistence, passion, and hard work—while surrounded by good, like-minded people.

“It is never too late to paint and create. Never shy away from sharing your talent; share the beauty of your art and its magic with the world.”
