Navida,
Artworks with a soul: this is what Mark Anthony Navida hopes people see when they view his paintings. Apart from skill and excellence in execution, he believes that what elevates one piece over another is the authenticity and soul that the artist infuses into their work.
His subjects include city streets, animals, wildlife, and nature. His impressionist creative technique can be described as a blend of dark and light hues, dynamic color schemes, and imperfect brush strokes that create a wondrous imaginary world to pique the interest of art enthusiasts.
Born in Mandaluyong City, Philippines, Mark joined and won numerous art competitions starting from a young age. Recently, two of Mark’s paintings, Warrior Chinese Opera and Fenghuang Village at Night, were featured in the 2024 ASEAN–China Book and Art Exhibition at the launching ceremony of the ASEAN–China Year of People-to-People Exchange.
A civil engineer who works as product and development designer in Dongguan, China, Mark is a member of FilEstilo, a Filipino artists group based in Guangdong Province. He collaborated with member-artists to create a triptych entitled Buklod ng Lahing Pilipino, donated to the Philippine Consulate in Guangzhou.
Mark is also a member of ARTipolo Group and has joined their exhibitions in the Philippines, such as at LeBlanc Hotel in Antipolo City and ARTABLADO in Robinsons Antipolo.
